How to reach Venice Lido
By airplane:
On arrival at Venice Marco Polo Airport, 12 KM north of Venice, you will find a shuttle bus outside the terminal building which goes directly to the boat stop. From there you can take the Alilaguna boat to Lido. This takes approximately 50 minutes and costs 10,00 euros. If you prefer a faster journey, water taxis are available from the same stop. This takes approximately 30 minutes and costs about 70,00 euros.
By train:
Arriving by Train you come into Santa Lucia Station in Venice. From there take the boat number 51 (towards the right) and get off in Lido. This takes approximately 35 minutes. Alternatively you can take line number 1 (line N after midnight) which goes down the Grand Canal but takes 50 minutes. When you get off follow the specific directions given in the information of each individual hotel.
We suggest you buy either a 1 or 3 day ticket costing 12,50 euros, 25,00 euros respectively per person. These tickets may be used on all boat lines and bus routes excluding the Airport service.
Please be aware of people in the railway station proposing tours, alternative accommodation and other deals.The “Santa Lucia” Railway Station is located on the north-western limits of Venice at the mouth of the Canal Grande. The walking distance from the station to downtown (San Marco Square) is approximately 40 minutes.
By car:
Come off the A4 motorway and follow the directions for Venice centre. You will come to the Venice causeway and from there follow the directions indicating to Ferry Boat Lido.
At the traffic lights turn right towards Tronchetto terminal and follow the signs to Ferry Boat Lido. From this terminal you can take the car ferry to Lido which takes about 35 minutes and passes in front of Saint Marks Square. On arrival at Lido disembark and follow the specific directions given in the information of each individual hotel.
